  1. This completely fails to grasp Zizek's critique of ideology because it relies on a conspiratorial conception of power. Zizek is a materialist, which means that he grounds his conception of ideology in terms of the material basis for power relations in society – class relations based on the inequalities of wealth, income, and ownership. Ideologies only have hegemony if they are backed by the existing materialist power relations. The world is a deeply unequal place full of prejudice based on ignorance of the material and historical bases of power. Pretending that 'egalitarianism' or 'multiculturalism' are ideologies in need of truth glasses is just daft.

  2. Ideologies maybe similar to tuning into a radio station. You only know what you tune into, others exist but you can only know what you tune into.
