Justice is vanishing like life’s blood
running freely on the ground pouring from a wound too big to stop up. Justice
precedes beauty and when beauty is gone what does a cameraman do with his eye? Hi
I’m Oskar Eustis. I’m the director of A BRIGHT ROOM CALLED DAY by Tony Kushner
premiering at The Public this fall. BRIGHT ROOM follows a group of political
activists intellectuals Bohemians in berlin from january 1932 to July of 1933 for the last days of the Weimar Republic and the first six months of the
Third Reich. Tony tells a tale of how easy it is for all of the democratic
institutions that have protected us to be blown away.
Because it’s Tony Kushner, it’s extraordinarily beautifully written and
because it’s Tony Kushner, it’s also incredibly theatrical, politically
provocative, and guaranteed to be an extraordinary night of theater.
