  1. Good talk. the only problem is that he never established a legitimate reason has to why immigration or bilingualism are seen has pernicious in the eyes of populist. He clarifies the fact that they are leading factors in populist movements, but it seems as if the sentiment of cultural stagnation or the unwillingness to accept cultural change, are the reason why they are seen as pernicious. they are not actually pernicious, they are just sentiments that are contingent on the unwillingness to change or accept cultural change. To me it just sounds like a lousy reason to excuse peoples ignorance, which we should not build policies on.
