Top 10 Celebrities We Liked Before They Got Too Political

before we begin I just need to know that I have your undying loyalty when the cameras are rolling these celebrities let their politics be known welcome to and today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 celebrities we liked before they got too political before we begin we publish new videos every day so be sure to subscribe for more great content for this list we're focusing on celebrities that have taken full advantage of their fame by taking sharp turns both left and right into politics I've always thought this way I just didn't realize it number 10 Russell Brand load is ancient sky in Forgetting Sarah Marshall this english comedian portrayed a troubled yet hilarious rock star named Aldous snow due to Russell Brand's memorable performance he landed a starring role in the follow-up production get him to the Greek which also spawned a relationship with Katy Perry but as Russell Brand became a trending topic he began promoting his politics and revolutionary ideas what is this market thing it's a construct it's an idea that is used to apportion power although a gifted and insightful comic there is a fine line between celebrity revolutionaries and political activists that work behind the scenes in the end brand seems to enjoy the attention but we just want more out of snow in future if someone wants you to give them a critique of their work reparative gizzards and old in front of their face number 9 Azealia Banks in late 2011 this Harlem MC released the hyperactive single 212 a track that would ultimately be featured in HBO's girls along with numerous feature films she's being very elitist and cruel at the time the name is Elia banks was associated solely with her music but then she began talking trash of course that is part of the game but as a Lea often goes over the top with brash tweets about celebrities and ethnic groups it's always something with Azealia Banks and she seems to go for the shock factor time and time again talented as she may be her offensive remarks don't seem to be helping her career so that might be a sign that she should focus more on the music and less on the drama luckily the margin of people who understand what I'm saying verses don't is starting to like you know chain number eight the Dixie Chicks you know we didn't walk off that stage going oh my god oh my god I shouldn't said I can't leave I said that in the late 90s the Dixie Chicks rose to fame after the massive success of wide open spaces they followed that up with three billboard number-one albums over the next several years this made them one of the most endearing and relatable crossover acts of their time as such fans flocked to their live shows to hear them sing lead singer Natalie Maines had other ideas as she began using her platform to complain about then President George W Bush who was also raised in Texas suddenly it was less about the music and more about making a political statement leading supporters to look elsewhere [Applause] number seven Donald Trump I am officially running for president of the United States regardless of one's personal politics no one can deny the Donald's relevance in American pop culture down the hall into the left in fact there was a time when Donald Trump was a trending water cooler topic finding laughs with his outrageous demeanor on NBC's The Apprentice Richard you're fired then Trump intimidated contestants making him one of the great stars of reality TV unsurprisingly America's fascination with him increased and so he ramped up his political aspirations which had previously been dismissed with more support came more power until his bravado and aggressive politics ultimately made him the most powerful man in the world let's just say a lot of people like primetime Trump more than presidential Trump number six Ted Nugent John Lennon's Imagine is about living a fantasy which is a lie and it will never happen and if that's what you pursue have a nice day born and raised in the Upper Midwest this rock and rollers resume dates back to the 60s Ted Nugent can flat-out shred on the guitar and for a long time that's all that many people knew about him but given his personality and straightedge approach to life Ted naturally became a pop-culture personality a man that liked to promote his personal ideals unsurprisingly this is when Nugent became a polarizing figure as his preachy rhetoric and affinity for guns rubbed some people the wrong way there is no gun violence there is criminal violence and they use an assortment of tools with that he transformed from Ted Nugent the rock star into Ted Nugent the former rock star with strong right-wing opinions Nugent sticks to his guns literally for him the Second Amendment is non-negotiable number five Sean Penn as one of the most enduring stars of modern Hollywood Sean Penn has earned plenty of clout within the industry there's a distinct possibility to use Goomba on I've got some plans for me with that being said the actor is anything but shy off screen and has long been one of the more vocal Hollywood personalities when someone like Penn begins injecting himself into international narratives it naturally leads to negative publicity in 2015 Penn arranged an interview with Mexican drug lord el chapo leading many to question his intentions it's not always clear what Penn hopes to achieve with his political rhetoric but he's become yet another Hollywood star that continuously inserts himself into societal narratives when all many people want is just a new movie but in this case of course we're also talking about something that's much bigger than the conversation of Isis versus Iran number four Charlton Heston from my cold dead hands whereas some people recognize this late actor is a true Hollywood icon others only know him as the former president of the National Rifle Association during his prime Charlton Heston was a towering figure known for his roles in the Ten Commandments Ben Hur and Planet of the Apes look at the bright side this is the best they've got around here in six months we'll be running this planet and while Heston was always politically active during his lifetime it was the documentary Bowling for Columbine that made the average moviegoer a little more aware of his politics some you have guns in the house here indeed I do uh-huh and that guy's take notice for many it's now almost impossible to watch a heston film without thinking about everything else regardless of whether you agree or disagree with his viewpoints this is who she is or was this is her mr. head please don't leave number three Lena Dunham I am a pro-choice feminist sexual assault survivor with a chronic reproductive illness Donald Trump and his party think I should be punished for exercising my constitutional rights this timely filmmaker became an indie darling with her 2010 film Tiny Furniture as her follow-up Lena Dunham created and starred in the acclaimed HBO series girls tapping into a millennial mindset hi okay um I'm Hannah and I think I may have overdone it on the snacks a little bit but just as her career took off social media took off to providing for some awkward Lena Dunham moments thanks to this Lena has embraced her fame sometimes using it for good and sometimes making people scratch their head it can be difficult to gauge if Lena is playing a role within pop culture or just playing the role of real-life Hannah Horvath whatever the case the lines have become blurred number two Jenny McCarthy we do not need that many vaccines in the 90s this blonde bombshell graced the pages of Playboy and hosted the MTV series singled out at the time Jenny McCarthy was a genuine American sex symbol and one that had comedic appeal within pop culture – like so many other models turned actresses Jenny had a working career in both television and film leading to more opportunities as she became a mother I just realized I can't stand you you can kiss these puppies goodbye in 2007 Jenny's persona took a hit after some controversial opinions about autism surfaced later bolstered by a hosting gig on the view in 2013 once a fun-loving MTV personality McCarthy flipped a switch and became controversial sometimes these classrooms that are so big they go at like super fast speeds where your they can't slow down for your child that they need a little bit more extra attention before we unveil our number one pick here are some honorable mentions I like Trump because Trump is not a politician he talks like a guy and ladies out there this is what guys talk about when you're not around I would say the distraction that's created is by a media that's overly obsessed with this stuff because it's easier than doing the hard stuff of the job look America he's like the best idea the world ever came up with but Donald Trump is potentially the worst idea that ever happened number one Kirk Cameron I would never attempt to try to redefine marriage and I don't think anyone else should either in the 80s he was one of televisions most iconic stars as the mischievous Mike Seaver on growing pains Kirk Cameron became a pop culture superstar I can explain all this even though Cameron didn't ultimately have a lasting television career his legacy had been established at least until he became the face of the left behind movie franchise this is insane people don't just disappear and began promoting his personal politics on TV furthermore Kirk's willingness to push his religious agenda in the media hasn't helped either I treasure the God that loves me in and forgives me of my sins now it's almost impossible to experience growing pain reruns in the same way as before well you going I mean you just can't leave me here like this do you agree with 1. I know this is 2 years old, but the name of the song is “two-one-two.” As in an area code. Not “two-twelve.” 🙄

  2. This is mostly a hit peice on conservatives..not to mention of the crazy off the charts Dems… Their not talking about them. interesting. You know the celebrities talking about blowing up the white house, and assassinations…hummm not mentioning these people are they

  3. WatchMojo likes it when the US bombs and murders innocents across the globe, and thinks people shouldn’t get “political,” ie speak out against the brutal savagery of US imperialism

  4. So the media once again doesn't like Trump, Conservatives, or Christians, what a fucking shocker, thank you, next

  5. Russell Brand really went deep into shamanizam and phsycology. He was fucking great on Joe Rogan's podcast.

  6. what do you expect azalea banks is just another f**** Niger from the hood to as soon as they got a little bit of money thanks Vander stand something about the world in large

  7. Bobby Knight should've been on the list or at least gotten an honorable mention for his public endorsement of Donald Trump!

  8. Elvis Presley was wise to never use his massive fame to speak about politics and risk losing fans. Celebrities today should take a page out of his book.

  9. Once again just a list of the people that the democrats don't like with a couple that they're willing to throw under the bus so that mojo doesn't came across as total ass holes!

  10. Hollywood needs to stick to Entertainment, it's SUPPOSED TO BE their "job"!!! That's what makes their living, their acting, singing, & dancing. They need to stay out of Politics, we're going to vote how WE see fit, we have the ability to think & choose for ourselves.

  11. Bono should be more concerned about delivering a listenable U2 record, as his band has moved into " oldies act; " Virtue-signaling and spewing word-barf you can't back-up will not get you new fans.

  12. " The 2nd Amendment is non-negotiable; " No shit…it's a Constitutional RIGHT and there is a reason it's the 2nd.

  13. Every one is worried about "conservative" or "liberal" and I'm over here like " why can't we all just remember how to be human?"
