“That’s how fascism gets beaten!” Greek Antifascist campaign for ukraine & Red Army veteran

*Neither in Ukraine, nor anywhere!
Smash the fascists in cities&villages! We shall begin with a salute from Lugansk, one of the Ukrainian regions that have rebelled against the Kiev Junta. then we’ll continue with a salute from a representative of the Greek left-wing guerilla fighters of the WWII and then with Mrs Anna Borisovna and some members of the Antifascist Campaign… A message from comrades, guerilla fighters from Lugansk. I’m going to read a part of it in Russian and then its translation in Greek. A salute message to our antifascist comrades in Greece by the renewed communist organization of the Lugansk People’s Republic Dear Comrades, we are very happy to send this salute to you in the 41st anniversary of the Polytechnic university uprising. against the American-NATO junta of the “black” colonels. In these significant days, 41 years ago the best sons and daughters of your people showed to all the world a great paradigm of what “love for the homeland” means faith to the ideals with selflessness and altruism without taking under consideration their own lives, just listening to the voice of their consciousness the voice of their burning hearts As in those times in your country, today in Ukraine the fascist junta of Maidan has grabbed the power as you did back then, we also declared an unyielding fight against fascism in our cities’ squares. As you did, we set street-barricades in Lugansk with tree branches, rocks and cocktail molotov we took our positions to stand against the tanks and the armed headhunters of Maidan. As in the case of the “black” colonels, the Ukrainian junta has committed crimes against the Ukrainian people. using the army against the unarmed civilians the feat of the Polytechnic university students is a great page in your people’s history. tragic but glorious at the same time Today, as was the case in Greece back then, the people of Donbas write history with the blood of their best children… and new heroic pages in the book of the antifascist struggle The hero of Novorossia, Alexander Scriabin, lost his life when he threw himself holding some grenades under a tank. The 13-year-old Cyrill Sidoriuk got killed covering with his body his 9-year-old sister Their brave actions along with the feats of many other patriots and internationalists of Donbas… will never be erased from our people’s memory For 4 years I served on the front, I used to be a nurse on the front line I will never forget that voice “Help me sister” the soldiers of the Red Army used to shout and we carried them in every possible way, on our backs, on any kind of stretchers. I will never forget the desperate voice of the soldier asking for some pill, some painkiller. that’s how we helped, that’s how we saved people! So I won’t forget those people screaming and that agony. we had to drag the injured through the unceasing fire we had to wait for the bursts to cease, for a small break between the cannonade to occur so as to make even a small step towards the salvation of those people …and we saved as many as we could. So I have those words of the injured Red Army soldiers in my ears. and we were trying to take advantage of each moment that the cannonade would stop in order to make a few steps, so I will never forget those words. I don’t remember to have met any supporter of fascism when liberating each Ukrainian territory everybody greeted us as liberators and they had an antifascist state-of-mind. I cannot understand the fascist revival. We observe with a great anxiety this revival in many places in Ukraine. We used to be and we will always be in favor of our Soviet homeland and we will stand till the end *Russian speakers sing WWII antifascist song Katyusha while Greeks sing a popular Greek resistance song written in the same melody Here, in this place came a representative of the Red Army. This is the point that unites and inspires all of us. The Great October Revolution of 1917 and the Antifascist Victory The fact that the Red Flag waved in Reichstag and that the nazi atrocity was defeated by the armed people of Europe If we would like to explain in a few words what the Antifascist Campaing for Ukraine is… …it is what a song outside of this amphitheater says it’s a mature child of a need and a mature child of the rage Because in Ukraine, next to the heart of Europe a real coup d’ etat took place A coup d’ etat organized by the ruthless European Union and the US imperialism in cooperation with the local Ukrainian oligarchy A coup that used all the methods that are historically used by the coups that used the fascist techniques that imposed itself through Maidan, creating a real nazi frontguard so when syndicates tried to take part, arms and legs were broken and they imposed that Maidan means: swastika, Bandera and European Union. What I’ve just described together with the provocation when hidden snipers bloodied normal people who took part in Maidan taking orders by the same organizers of the Maidan in an action that brings in our minds the provocation of Reichstag in the ’30s Their aim was to impose a provisional government in which all key places were occupied by fascists While in the streets of the ukrainian cities the fascist groups imposed their rule. Their first measures were to ban the minority languages they restricted rights, they closed newspapers, they crushed syndicates they burned the offices of the communist party, they did the same with the offices of other left organizations as Borotba. they outlawed movements and organizations and every democratic, progressive person is under persecution in Ukraine. And this caused a reaction! Because the peoples react! What is the aim of our campaign? To tell this truth! To tell the truth that all mass media hide! either with their silence or by serving the western propaganda. and the propaganda hides the fact that today in Ukraine there is an antifascist struggle going on! About Odessa’s massacre, the same people who committed it A representative of Odessa’s Maidan admitted that it was organized by the Kiev regime in order to suppress the “separatist riot” as he described it to avoid Kharkiv and Odessa being turned into Donbas The did the massacre so as not to be turned into “Donbas” However, unfortunately there are even today several voices among the European lefts in Greece too…that are in favor of the “equal distance” from the two sides of the conflict. and these issues started from the first moment, since the Odessa events. When the massacre took place and despite the fact that the side which suffered was evident there were at least 48 dead people in the building. we don’t know the exact number cause the investigation has stopped… so what happened in reality and has never been written First of all, the elections took place in an environment of state and shadowy terrorism what we mean is daily attacks, beatings, destruction of political offices in essence, everyone who opposed the regime was not able to freely take part in the elections. did you read or hear that the Communist Party of Ukraine (whatever is our opinion about it) has not recognized the election results? because in fact it was not given the opportunity to hold an election campaign… because there were constant attacks, murders, injuries, persecutions of people who opposed the regime. It was not heard in any media. Did you even hear that abstention was the highest in the political history of Ukraine? It was over 50% In the eastern parts of the country which are still controlled by the Kiev regime it was over 60% My father fought with the Greek lef-wing resistance (ELAS) in the WWII and the Greek state rewarded him by sending him to the exile. he escaped from there, he fought in the Greek civil war and then followed the course of his whole generation… being a political refugee sometimes getting persecuted by that regime as well… My father who is still alive today, although his later life was a hell as he had no citizenship/nationality he was two times sentenced to death he made a family very late because of this life even now I have never heard him saying that he feels sorry for the path that he had chosen! That generation was an unrepentant generation Each one of them! Our comrade here, Anna. The comrades from the Democratic Army (greek civil war), our comrades from the Greek Liberation Army (WWII) they form a generation that never felt sorry for its political decisions! We are not sure comrades in which way to end our meeting today… We could all stand up and sing the “International” We could do it in Russian and in Greek too Let’s all lift our left fist and sing the “International” to honor a generation that fought but also for the generation that hasn’t yet done its “Polytechnic university uprisings” but they will do it tomorrow! Against every realism, against any management for a generation that fought holding the gun in their hands
for a generation that holds its future in their hands we have victories in front of us Honor and glory to the Red Army!
Honor and glory to the generation that fought! Honor and glory to the Democratic Army of Greece Glory and honor to the generation struggling today! Glory and honor to the people’s militia in Donbas! *singing the “International” in Greek and Russian*Glory and honor to the Red Army*Neither in Ukraine, nor anywhere!
Smash the fascists in cities and villages!
