CANDY, WHAT DO ACCOMPLISH?CANDY:GOOD MORNING, THEY WILL WORK TO DEVELOP AN IMMEDIATE STATEWIDE ACTION PLAN.THIS WILL FOCUS ON STRATEGIES THAT WILL TAKE A LOOK CYBERSECURITY THREATS; POTENTIAL GUN LEGISLATION;AND WAYS TO TACKLE THE RISE OF EXTREMIST GROUPS.AS WELL AS PROVIDE COMMUNITY HEALING.THIS IS SIMILAR TO THE ROUND TABLES YOU SAW HIM PUT TOGETHER AFTER THE SANTA FE HIGH SCHOOL SHOOTING.GOVERNOR ABBOTT SAYS THROUGH THIS COMMISSION HE ALSO PLANS TO ADDRESS THE LINK BETWEEN MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES AND GUN VIOLENCE.ON TOP OF AN ACTION PLAN, THE COMMISSION WILL ALSO WORK TO CREATE LEGISLATIVE SOLUTIONS. THIS COMMISSION WILL CONSIST OF EXPERTS, POLICE, CHURCH, SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY LEADERS. REPRESENTATIVE MARY GONZALEZ WILL BE ONE OF THOSE IN ATTENDANCE WHO SAYS SHE’S READY TO GET TO WORK. REP.
