SNC Lavalin: Justin’s Liberals are in complete disarray

Justin Trudeau’s Liberals are in
complete disarray. In the past, companies convicted of corruption were excluded
from federal contracts. Justin Trudeau changed that in Budget 2018 and special
deals can now be made with companies to reduce penalties. Last September, the
Public Prosecutor said the charges against SNC-Lavalin for fraud and
bribery would go ahead has filed. A huge effort was launched to have that
decision reversed. Trudeau instructed his staff and top bureaucrats to
pressure Justice Minister Raybould to change the decision. She was persistently
lobbied and refused to change it, and in January, she was demoted and forced to
resign from cabinet. Surprise, surprise – the new guy in her place says he’s open to
reconsidering. This is how Trudeau’s government has worked from day one and
it’s why it is in shambles. Kudos to The Globe and Mail for carrying
this story. It’s obvious several other national news organizations are less
enthusiastic. We are being told that the $650 million promised to news outlets
is already affecting political coverage. Could it be affecting this story?
