Recruitment: Culture Fit Vs. Culture Add

Recruitment: Culture Fit Vs. Culture Add

Hey everybody this is Nathan Knottingham with
the knowledge coop and today I want to talk to you about culture fit. So last week I’m on a plane sitting next
to the division director for recruitment for Lush Cosmetics, Bryn was a really
engaging young lady, talking to her about what it’s about recruiting for people
for your industry and how she is finding culture fit. She stopped me right there
and said whoa… we don’t use culture fit anymore here’s why. We use
the term culture add. Here’s the thought process for you in the mortgage industry.
When you’re out looking to recruit new loan officers either brand new in the
industry or bringing people in who are well seasoned in the industry think
about how they’re going to add to your culture not just fit. Fit allows us to
find people to just emphasize and repeat what we already do. Culture add brings in
people that well they look different, they sound different, they sell different,
but they’re effective. If your culture is all about making money this may not be
the right video, you want to check out a clip from you know (I’m talking about
this) but if you’re in this industry and your culture is one that you want to
serve the people you’re concerned about the shrinking margins you need to find
loan officers support staff all types of people for your company that are going
to add to your company culture they’re going to bring in unique insights, unique
visions, and they’re going to help you grow in a way that’s, well you’re competitions just not doing. That’s my thought for you today hope you
have a great week we’ll see you next time.
