Mike Murphy Liberal Leadership Candidate – English

we have always been closely connected to the land closely connected to farming and to the ordinary new bronze occur the three things that I knew about in my lifetime was the law which is my first profession I knew about horses and I knew a little bit about political life from my father and from my upbringing and my involvement for going on 35 years now there’s a time that perhaps political and personal circumstances come together and they tell you look you’d better leave all of the things I said at the time were true I did need to spend time with my family I didn’t need to go into detail as to the political circumstances because you have three options you can blow up the government of which you’re apart which is certainly dishonorable or you can stay and advocate things that you don’t believe in which is equally dishonorable certainly to my family’s name or thirdly as you quietly go home and that’s exactly what I did I’m back because I think that I’m quite tired of hearing by some that we need to wait for a solution to come from outside the province the reality is that we have the human capital we have some financial resources I’ve had a thousand meetings around this province and there are some very straightforward solutions to very complex problems the policies that I’ve announced to date I have all come from the farms and the hockey rinks and the coffee shops of this province every single one of them if you’re going to say something you need to make sure you’re well informed that the solutions been provided by the people that you’re supposed to listen to and then say it as I’ve often said you know if I’m elected leader of the Liberal Party you won’t have to wonder what I’m thinking and that’s what I’ve tried to do in my one-on-one meetings for the last year is tell people where I stand on issues what do you think the solutions are and sometimes my position has changed on a number of things because you know i think it was Winston Churchill said that if you if you keep your opinion the same despite in the face of changing facts and circumstances that’s not a wise thing to do so I’ve learned an incredible amount in the in the fields and in the coffee shops and hockey rinks threatening Rensburg we’re entering a completely new age of openness of government I don’t know that the rest of the country is going to be there soon but I think that new bruns are can be and I think that new brunswick can lead the way you
