  1. Bones, stop growing after puberty and muscle and fat cells also stop dividing. But cartilage – that's the plastic-like stuff in ears and noses – continues to grow until the day you die. Not only does cartilage grow, but the earlobes elongate from gravity. And that makes ears look even larger.

  2. So grateful I live in the US and own land and farm and know how to live a full and successful life in nature and in peace – no need to "be number #1" as a nation but very satisfied to be my own number #1 as I am. Sometimes it's better to find your own small piece of perfection in this otherwise imperfect world and stay as far away from other imperfect beings as you possibly can. lol

  3. Darwinian evolution still operates among monera that do horizontal gene transfer. The unit of natural selection is the gene, not the species. Dawkins figured that out in the '70s.

  4. The notion that humans can design a thermostat to control the temperature of the earth is an experiment that should be avoided at all costs. If only for the reason that, our scientific estimates of refrigerant's effects to the atmosphere has resulted in the consistent obsolescence of the cheapest refrigerants available at the time. While at the same time resulted in the highest profits to those who would profit.

The real problem we are confronted with is allowing politicians and/or scientists to exploit the issue for profit. The environmental problem is in the pollution that we produce which shortens our and other animals life expectancy.

On the evolution of the genes, I have hope that the geek open source genes poll will prove to continue to increase in size. At this time the tendency of nature to produce efficiency will over take the want of geed of the Darwin era. Ultimately, revealing mother nature's preference in reciprocity.

  5. I agree that genetic modification has great potential for good — BUT so far it has been used primarily to satisfy the greed of corporations such as Monsanto, whose glyphosate resistant crops are causing a complex set of conditions adding up to great harm to soil ecology and lifestock and human health. The psychopathology that capitalism leads to at top levels needs to be corrected.

  6. Don't forget about that huge schnozzle which sort of compliments his lugs…. doesn't detract from his intellect though which is bigger than both combined!! Which to say, is of leviathan proportions..
