Election 2012 | Obama to Romney: Cold War Is Over – Third Presidential Debate | The New York Times

Governor Romney I'm glad that you recognized that al-qaeda is a threat because a few months ago when you were asked what's the biggest geopolitical threat facing America you said Russia not al-qaeda you said Russia and the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because you know the Cold War has been over for 20 years but governor you know when it comes to our foreign policy you seem to want to import the foreign policies in the 1980s just like the social policies of the 1950s and the economic policies in the 1920s you say that you're not interested in duplicating what happened in Iraq but just a few weeks ago you said you think we should have more troops in Iraq right now and the the challenge we have I know you haven't been a position to actually execute foreign policy but every time you've offered an opinion you've been wrong you said we should have gone into Iraq despite the fact that there were no weapons of mass destruction you said that we should still have troops in Iraq to this day you indicated that we shouldn't be passing nuclear treaties with Russia despite the fact that 71 senators Democrats and Republicans voted for it you've said that first we shouldn't not have a timeline in Afghanistan then you said we should now you say maybe or it depends which means not only were you wrong but you're also confusing and sending mixed messages both to our troops and our allies so what what we need to do with respect to the Middle East is strong steady leadership not wrong and reckless leadership that is all over the map

  1. This was in 2012. Experts say that Russians started hacking our systems around 2015. Putin's had his eye on Drumpf since before that.

  2. I don’t care what side of the aisle you’re on in 2019. Obama completely underestimated the seriousness of the risk the Russian government poses to our democracy.

  3. You should’ve done a better job so African-American would-of look up to you….. Now the corruption things are going to come out about your presidency and you’re going to deny it

  4. Stella Bella treaty need to be signed your room can I have nukes Miranchuk and protect for the right price….

  5. Democrats in 2012: "The 80s called and they want their foreign policy back."
Democrats in 2016 and beyond: "Russia is a threat to our national security and stole the presidency for Donald Trump."
Obama 2012: "Hey Democrats, the 80s are calling and they want their foreign policy back."

  6. My god. Everything Obama said was wrong. Democrats are so wrong most of the time. Unfortunately it takes time to prove how wrong they are. They can say whatever they want in the moment and we all have to pay for it in the long run.

  7. Biggest mistake of his presidency, letting Hillary within a hundred miles of Foggy Bottom. It was Hillary who revived the Cold War, and Obama let her. Thank God and Krshna for TULSI GABBARD for calling Hillary out on her murderous psychopathy, at great risk to Tulsi's own career.

  8. And Trump is now saying Obama let Russia invade Crimea which due to his general ignorance of Russia's intentions exposed here is clearly correct. Obama and his ilk continue to demonstrate they have been out of touch with reality while continuing to be very smug about it. Pathetic people.

  9. So it's 2019, and Obama was right, Russia still ain't a problem, despite the media/Congress trying to restart the Cold War. I'm sure China is laughing at how much money we spent chasing a boogeyman instead of just admitting Hillary was less electable than Trump, despite (or perhaps because of) the media hating on him 24/7.
