PROBLEM NOW? THIS IS OUR LIFE NOW. THIS IS OUR LIFE NOW. ANYWAY, LET’S TALK ABOUT ANYWAY, LET’S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE. SOMETHING ELSE. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE FEDERAL LET’S TALK ABOUT THE FEDERAL COURTS. COURTS. MOST FEDERAL COURT CASES DON’T MOST FEDERAL COURT CASES DON’T GET TO THE SUPREME COURT, RIGHT? THEY ONLY TAKE ABOUT 100 OF THEY ONLY TAKE ABOUT 100 OF THEM, MAYBE 150 OF THEM IN A THEM, MAYBE 150 OF THEM IN A PARTICULARLY BUSY YEAR. PARTICULARLY BUSY YEAR. SO IF YOUR CASE IS IN FEDERAL SO IF YOUR CASE IS IN FEDERAL COURT, ANY KIND OF CASE, THAT COURT, ANY KIND OF CASE, THAT WILL BE BEFORE A FEDERAL WILL BE BEFORE A FEDERAL DISTRICT COURT JUDGE. 1. Coming from halfway round the world, a multi-ethnic nation — the Philippines — this is the saddest day for me as an academic and hear about this paper.

  2. Trump will do little but continue to divide America and help turn much of the GOP into a paranoid, conspiracy-theorizing mess. He had the power to lead people away from that nonsense but he's a victim of the mindset himself.

  3. American Fascism is now for all to see. It took decades to install.
"Ethno" is another word for "race". Racism in disguise. The Steven Menashi guy is another covert narcissist. Watch the "smirk". MSNBC, tell it like it is. The psychopaths and sociopaths in society could rise bc of capitalistic thinking. Time for empaths and democratic socialistic thinking now. Vote Bernie 2020 Greetings from Germany, a Republic where social democracy works.

  4. When the British actually did force Muslim soldiers to use pig fat for their guns it caused a huge revolt. This story of Trump not only didn't happen, if it had, it would have made the Muslims angrier….

  5. Court packing is EXACTLY what fascist regimes do. The US has not been a real democracy for decades (the last legitimate repub president was Bush Sr. ffs), and Moscow Mitch and 45* have only accelerated the deconstruction of our democracy. With or without 45* gone, unless there is a radical change to take back our democracy, the US experiment in liberal democracy is dead and a full fascist corporate plutocratic white supremacist theocracy will rule over all of us.

  6. It would be a beautiful if I could punch 1 of you dogs that attacked Pelosi for blocking the Impeachment. If you were a Real Impeach believer, you are a Giant bone Spur.Disgracefull,Deplorable, undignified dogs. Hey, I got a new simple prediction-Democrats will overplay their hand in this Gun War.Background Checks-No-We want AW ban!The End

  7. Wow you can judge a lot looking at a head and l judge this judge to be a crock . That head is not a great look .

  8. So the appointee is arguing that the USA planted the seeds of its own demise when it engaged in the slave trade, forcibly removing blacks from Africa, working them to death, separating families and setting them up as permanent 2nd class citizens. (See the current Atlantic article on black farmers). This has been called America's original sin and our high ideals may not be enough to bring us together.

  9. When the Dems get in in 2020 . They should help relocate as many asylum seekers and imigrants to Republican enclaves so the republicans can learn to assimilate . They should shoulder some of the effort to help these people instead of criticizing those who do .

  10. I'll do you one better – the wanna-be " judge " lied in his scholarship – bob pippin is a philosopher – not sociologist – and his work as mentioned is on hegelian philosophy, not empirical findings.

  11. Pres Trump Da Boss….Thank God we have a President who is not politically correct. Never thought I would see it, after so many pansies in the United States…

  12. Odds are he visited Epstein's Island. Birds of a feather flock together, why else give people positions that they would not normally get, to keep them quiet and reward them for their loyalty to Trump, not their loyalty to our country or Constitution.

  13. Does he wish America to be like China one race? Look at HK protestors against China. So same race means nothing in governance. Duh. Another dumb nominee.

  14. Elementary stuff… spot the weak or lazy argument by looking for the word 'surely'. Others are 'obviously', clearly, 'right', 'reasonable'. In fact, any word that implies if you take the opposite stance you are wrong. A cynical view, but I wonder if 'The Use and Abuse of Argument' is on the WH admin reading list (and of those auditioning for a position).

  15. Too bad we haven't followed ethnonationlism for 243 years of our history as a country….according to him, it CANNOT WORK!

  16. I can’t understand the US political system that gives one person so much power! This is asking for corruption.

  17. Let us be honest, do you really want a nation that looked & thought & worship the way this guy the 45th has nominated does?

  18. Trump talked about this early on in his election about making zones for people. Nobody wanted to talk about it or caught it I guess.

  19. Ever notice that all of Trump's nominees look like crazy-eyed rapists..? "Come over here, little girl… let me touch your panties!" Those sort of guys.

  20. Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’ ‘Moscow Mitch’

  21. Is the Democratic party bad? Yes. Are they worse than republicans? If your answer is yes, you are the problem.

  22. America is so awesome! I used to live there. Hands down the most racist country I've ever been to it's just nice to see your true colors showing!!! Think Donald Trump is the best thing that's happened to the U.S cause he's airing out your dirty laundry.

  23. "Abuse their power". Admittedly. But how on earth could the people of the US grant such absolute power to any of its governing bodies? Bloody crazy…

  24. Trump is very sick. I wonder if the little "pug nose follower" who shouts from the roof top that he actually cares about them.

  25. Appointing judges for life seems like an utterly crazy, undemocratic thing to do. Surely judges should be appointed to a limited term only? Otherwise you’re installing people with potential biases, personal illness, or other issues for decades – I don’t understand why Americans think that’s a good idea, or acceptable.

  26. This is Nazi-talk all over. “Blut und Boden”. Blood and birthground. Liar-in-chief Trump and Moscow Mitch are preparing a government takeover after the 2020 election.

  27. and the taxpayers will pay their salaries forever.just another example of trumps communist ways.atleast retribution is coming to McConnell, his home state doesnt play his games.GO KENTUCKY,you are showing peole what patriotism truly is.

  28. The story is kind of a true story but happened in the 1800's I believe it was India during the Boar War & the English used it.

  29. I will say one thing here,, America has a nerve calling other countries governments corrupt . From what I have learned since ,2016 America has one of the most corrupt governments ever !

  30. I heard trumpo's trying to buy the White sea to protect it from the Black, Red, andYellow seas …he's thatstupid

  31. Well… there is a positive way to see this and a negative way… Either the almost century of peace on the larger stage of global relations of nations, with occasional local kerfuffles like Vietnam or Afghanistan, has weakened the resolution of most westenr nations population to fight for their rights to be fair and equally treated so much that we are minutes away from an overthrow by the autoritarian forces that turned the last century into such a bloody clusterfuck of nationalist wars (and the best argument against it is that neither the interbellum nor the period from World War II to Vietnam was really not nationalist in the US mindset, what changed were just the direction of that selfreflective ire and the groups against which it was loudly formulated / cold war) OR this is the natural consequence of the onslaught of really liberal (or maybe "progressive") social changes brought along since the early 1900s when suffrage was hotly contested and gaining new steam during the 60s with feminism and social rights protests by blacks and members of the LBGBT/GSRM communities by having been SO successful that now there is a last giant uproar from the dying extremist camps before they will end up marginalised and powerless in the face of even more sweeping changes.

It might be even so blatant and openly as it has closed ranks with the likewise increasingly outdated evangelical hate-preaching, that when their "last stands" combine seems also on the way out of the door for most younger people and fears just as much to no longer be socially aceptable in just 20, 25 years, should society continue like it has done the last 50 years. THESE are the hills they want to fight on, THESE are their weapons of choice and right now they could JUST mobilize a strong enough remnant of their former unlimited powerbase to squeeze out a last big success… which hopefully will speed up the end even more.

You already can see kind of where I stand, I hope it is the second option, the swan song of the old mindsets and the onset of a new age with a new baseline far closer to social-democratic, egalitarian, actually "liberal" values than the evoked "ethnoliberal" (that aren't liberal in any proper sense) agenda of the Trump Judge. And one reason why I think so is that the stubborn partisan nature of their current politics is burning bridges that cannot simply be re-errected afterwardsm that will cause an enormous backlash to the other side once this sort of politician loses control (which they inevitably will in the US system, gerrymandering not withstanding) and it has a lot of resemblance to resistance like that of George Wallace to the early Social Justice movement. Which also ended badly for his kind of politician for a long time, forcing them into a smaller and smaller bubble of "still sufficiently racist" areas.

Cause if I'm wrong and it's the resurgence of absolutist Nationalism on a global scale… we're fuuuuuuuu**ed

  32. All Menashi did was describing reality.
you may not like reality but it is what it is.

All he said was: deal with it.
unfortunately he could not tell how to deal with it, as he did not find any country that had found a way to deal with it.
since when has ignoring reality become a prerequisite to becoming a judge?

  33. It's crazy how people can lose their jobs for saying the n-word once, but this guy can publish a 60 page essay on the benefits of ethno-nationalism, which is just a fancier word for white supremacy, and he gets a nomination to the second highest court in the land.

  34. The goal here fellow citizens is to tear US apart, albeit long in the tooth, it is meticulous consistent and likely will prevail.

  35. It has always been, a mystery why, whether we like it or not, Russia sets the tone in world affairs. Time has been when Russia was anti-racism and first country to criticize racial policies. Today Russia is in the fore front of saving white race and the world follows.

  36. The story probably came via ‘Chinese Whisper’ from the Indian Mutiny of 1857 when Hindu and Muslims refused to handle newly introduced cartridges which, it was said, contained cow and pigs fat.

  37. This is a horrifying story. It starts with Moscow Mitch and ends with bullets dipped in pig's blood. I didn't know about trump telling this to people in South Carolina and they cheered. This is so depressing.

  38. USA new 'leader' of the racist, facist NOT free world.
    Never been a leader.
Read history USA in south america.
Guetamala( now on amazon) venezuela , chili, argentinie and so much more.
    WARCRIMES!!!!!!!!!!

EUROPE STAYS SILENCE ON RACIST,FACIST USA.
    MONEY GOES BEFORE HUMAN RIGHTS.
    The netherlands

  39. Interesting. There was a time when only Northern European decent was the one that mattered. Are they sure they want this guy? Italians and Greeks etc. wouldn't count.

  40. What exactly is Steven MENASHI's ethnic background. He certainly does not have a WASP (White Anglo Saxon Protestant) name. Although he might be White, we should really do a DNA test. It seems highly unlikely that his immigrant forebears were Protestant. Has his family resided in Anglo Saxon nations through enough centuries so that his ancestry is sufficiently Anglo Saxon? Menashi certainly does not qualify as a judge on ethnonationalistic grounds alone.

  41. This story brings chills. All those right wing deep state nuts have been projecting their agenda onto everyone else. It is truly chilling when you add all of the separate things together.

The supreme court ruled gerrymandering as legal….wtf! Court approved cheating! The #MoscowMitch agenda of denying democratic president of appointing judges, so now the unhinged #45 is filling these crucial judge appointments with right wing 'Christian' hypocrite judges, or worse as case in point.

Then there is the serious underfunding and in some cases, total cut of funding to public education programmes, including the vulnerable books for the blind, all overseen by the hideous Betsy Devos.

The scraping of funding to environmental sciences, the sudden move a 1,000 miles away from Washington, move or you're fired, that Munchin was caught on tape as admitting it was a way to fire these eminent scientists (I hope they sue him for constructive dismissal).

The relentless rolling back of environmental protections and workers safety protections and extinction protections for wild life in danger.

Another department of government to do with food safety I think, also science led, being told they are to move to Colorado ( the home state of the corrupt official ex lobbyist for corporate entities that #45 has as acting head of department) the same rules, move or you're fired in 30 days.

Then there is the immigration policy issues, some of which are illegal under international law, as of this week, the emphasis on only allowing immigration of wealthy individuals, which is anti-ethical to the foundation of America.

This is a systematic disassembling of democracy and an educated science based culture, truly chilling as I'm not watching a documentary on history, it's happening right now in America. #45 doesn't have the intelligence to think this lot up, obviously as he thinks he can really buy Greenland, Sheesh, that simpleton cretin is America's head of state!!!

This is sinister machinations behind the scenes agenda, of whom I've no idea but Miller is one of them i suspect. My thinking is the right wing Christian evangelicals who are fanatical at the same time as being hypocritical. The minds behind this are truly sinister which in my insignificant opinion points to far right, or alt right or whatever they want to call themselves this month. The hypocrisy is stunning, I can't speak for Jesus Christ (mythical being?) but from my Bible study days, right wing Christian evangelicals aren't following the teachings of Christ, it's a warped and twisted sanctimonious version of Christianity that bares little similarity to ordinary Christianity, which I'm a lapsed member of.

Dear America, I don't know what's going to happen, I hope democracy is saved by voting blue, no matter who the nominee is next year, I fear it may be already too late, as the pace of this dismantling is rapidly growing traction. You (as a Country) have some serious issues to fix, the systemic racism, the education crisis that must be affecting the electorate in 'red' states, the gerrymandering and voter suppression in key electoral college states, the legalised bribery that affects all corporate sponsored politician's on both sides of the divide (it's no longer an aisle btw, it's now a chasm between the ideological differences of parties). The totally crazy gun problem, after listening on PBS to the collection of officials in Philadelphia yesterday at their joint bi-partisan news conference there is a glimmer of hope. My admiration for the chief of police and other officials and their collective condemnation to the stonewalling state senate's under thrall to the NRA is inspiring. The police chief is inspirational, as are some of those elected officials and their passionate declaration that they will fix it. It's not 'just' up to the officials, it will take mass protests to move those stonewalling legislators and as the police chief and others said, loss of life isn't just rifles, loss of life is from hand guns on a massive scale, all across America. Philadelphia let them be your example of hope. I believe that they will really try, but it's up to the people of all of your communities to help them and each other. Rebel against those that are trying to divide and conquer, help each other, regardless of gender, creed, colour or wealth, find that comman humanity and lift each other, not in the name of religion, but in the name of America……this is my plea, my prayer even, though I'm no longer religious, I genuinely hope you can come together before it's too late….

    🌹 Peace to you all

  42. The thing Ms. Maddow doesn't mention is that the main example for Mr. Menashi's thesis is the nation of Israel and its ethnic and religious background… it's a measure of Ms. Maddow's skill at implication to use terms like "racial purity", usually associated with white supremacists, while speaking of an American Jew discussing the politics of Israel. Maybe tomorrow, she'll call him a Nazi, like Ben Shapiro and Dennis Prager.

  43. When is the investigation into Moscow Mitch? because I already heard enough. He needs to be in jail and his wife!
