Culture Chronicles Ep3 | Houston North Library Services

(Upbeat electronic music plays) (Lone Star College Culture Chronicles EP3 | Houston North Library Services #ChooseLearning) So Houston North you know we were
previously centers and we’ve created a library at each previously known as a
center location: Greenspoint, Fairbanks, and Victory. So the libraries are very
small, but in conjunction with the coordinators at each library we make
sure everything is pretty much the same. Students can go into any of the
libraries and get testing and tutoring help as long with help on the computer.
They’re able to pretty much get anything they need since we’re a small campus we
know our students pretty well. Houston North we’re the smallest library, but also we’re the only library in the system that has testing and tutoring. So
in a lot of ways we’re a one-stop shop for any kind of support learning or
academic support. Students can come in as they get tutored, they’re able to use our
equipment our computers and also talk to a librarian to get help finding any kind
of information online. We’re unique in that way throughout the system. As a librarian or library director, I would say to read as much as possible for the break. I don’t get to read throughout the year much because I’m busy working. However over the break that’s the time I get to read and it
doesn’t have to be a nonfiction, read anything whether it’s a newspaper or
information online, or books that you’ve been waiting for all year. I would advise
you to read as much as possible that’s a fun way to keep learning throughout the
break. (For more information about Houston North Library Services please visit: Lonestar.edu/Student-Resources-HN) (How have you seen the LSC Culture make a positive impact?) (We want to hear from you! Send your stories to [email protected])
